Welcome to RE/MAX BonBini Curacao
Curaçao, which is situated outside of the hurricane belt, is home to more than 50 different nationalities. Papiamento is the native language, while Dutch is the official language and English and Spanish are both widely spoken. Curacao has a stable democratic government and low tax rates. The island offers all modern facilities and the current economic growth is expected to continue. The unit of currency is the Netherlands Antilles guilder which has been pegged to the US dollar at the exchange rate of US$ 1.00= ANG. 1.78.
There are many public and private schools on the island. The Curaçao educational system includes elementary, secondary, technical, higher and university education, as well as schools for vocational training, in Dutch. American style education is available from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Unlike Aruba the island is still relatively unknown as a tourist location.
The economy of this beautiful island is still flourishing and the tourist market is growing rapidly. Several international hotel chains are currently developing new resorts such as the 5-star Hyatt Regency Resort. The Renaissance Curaçao Resort & Casino and the new Van der Valk Hotel have recently opened. The new airport terminal opened in July 2006 and more air lines are adding Curacao to their flight schedules. The number of cruise ships that visit Willemstad is growing every year. Prices of real estate are still reasonably affordable when comparing to other Caribbean Islands so now is the time to invest in real estate.
In the historic centre of Willemstad, beautifully restored monumental buildings stand along the Annabaai where cruise ships pass by on their way to the unique natural harbour. With its impressive colonial mansions, beautiful nature, and many cultural activities, Curacao is without a doubt the most beautiful part of the Dutch Antilles.
